Service Description

This class focuses on using many of the skills taught in Control Unleashed and BAT programs. You'll learn how to address underlying stressors in your dog's life, and how to find joy with your pup again. Since group classes are limited to four students, you'll get plenty of one-on-one attention, but you'll also be able to learn from watching your classmates and hearing their questions get answered. At the end of this training course, you’ll have the skills you need to help your dog: - pay attention to you when you need it - feel confident in a variety of situations - check in with you when they feel unsure instead of acting big and scary (or getting small and shutting down) - begin to change their negative associations with triggers - go on a walk with less stress and without panic - practice calm in the presence of their triggers during set-ups - 7 Live Virtual Sessions (1hr each) - Detailed homework documents - Access to class recordings - Access to a shared Google Drive folder with your classmates - Feedback & coaching on two homework videos (2 mins each) per live class. Once you have completed the group Reactive Anonymous class, you may purchase a package of in-person park sessions using Behavior Adjustment Training* and Control Unleashed techniques with Kate in Costa Mesa parks in order to further your dog’s rehabilitation and ability to cope with stress. *BAT sessions start at approximately 250ft apart, using Bluetooth headsets/earbuds connected to ours phones in order to maintain continuous communication between trainer and client. We may begin with a realistic stuffed dog or work with Kate's dog immediately, depending on a variety of factors. The distance between dogs will decrease over time as the student dog is ready, and we will work on parallel walks and other exercises as appropriate.
